Ready to take your pottery skills for another spin? Pottery Wheel Progression is a four-part course designed for students who have completed our Pottery Wheel Primer and are ready to take the next step toward independent throwing. Throughout this hands-on series, students will strengthen their wheel-throwing techniques, improve their control and confidence and explore new ways to shape their creations. We'll focus on refining essential skills, creating more consistent forms and developing the independence needed to work at the pottery wheel with less instructor assistance. Students will also learn how to properly set up, maintain and clean their pottery wheel and workspace, building the habits and responsibilities of an independent potter. What to Expect: - Four instructor-guided sessions with plenty of hands-on practice - Proper wheel setup, workspace preparation and end-of-session cleanup - Continued practice with centering and clay control - Techniques for pulling taller, more even walls - Exploration of new shapes and forms - Opportunities to refine and personalize finished pieces - Increasing independence and confidence at the wheel Prerequisite: Completion of Pottery Wheel Primer or equivalent introductory wheel-throwing experience.
